CERTIFICATES USDA ORGANIC

IN THE UNITED STATES

The USDA is responsible for organic certifications. Products made entirely with certified organic ingredients and methods can be labeled “100% organic”.

“100% organic” is a bit of a misnomer, as most skincare products contain water, and water can not be certified as organic. Water and salt are not counted when determining if a product contains 100% organic ingredients.

To be labeled “Organic”, a product must contain only 95% organic ingredients. The end product may contain up to 5% of non-organically produced agricultural ingredients which are not commercially available in organic form; and/or some non-synthedic products allowed by the government.

Ecocert elaborates standards based on social and environmental objectives. Gaining the trust of both operators, and consumers, Ecocert is now a worldwide reference for organic certification that brings international recognition to your products, systems, and services.

THE GREAT PRINCIPLES TO ECOCERT'S NATURAL
AND ORGANIC COSMETICS certified by Ecocert

To privilege ingredients coming from renewable resources, and transformed by respecting processes of the environment: Ecocert verifies, from one side, each ingredients' origin used on a formula, and imposes that at least a minimum of 95% of ingredients' total have a natural origin (the remaining 5% of ingredients could be of synthesis under reserve to belong to a positive restrictive list of the Standards), and from the other side, the manufacturing processes.

To privilege the use of ingredients coming from organic farming, better guarantee of the respect of ecological values: Ecocert imposes a minimum of ingredients coming from Organic Farming:

Natural Cosmetics Label: min. 5% of total of ingredients must come from Organic farming, meaning at least 50% of vegetal ingredients on the formula.

Natural & Organic Cosmetics Label: min. 10% of total of ingredients must come from Organic Farming, meaning at least 95% of vegetal ingredients on the formula.

Be transparent in front of consumers.
